Foreself ("we," "us") builds a mobile app that turns a spoken description of an upcoming moment into a short narrated rehearsal. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Foreself is a practice tool, not a medical or therapeutic service.
Account information. Email address and, if you sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides.
Voice recordings. When you describe a moment aloud, we transcribe the recording. The original audio is discarded once transcription completes, and we do not keep raw voice recordings by default.
Transcripts and rehearsals. The text transcript of what you said, and the script and narrated audio generated from it, stored with your account until you delete them.
Moment and reminder data. Dates, times, and reminder preferences you set when anchoring a rehearsal to a real event.
Subscription information. Purchase and entitlement status from Apple's App Store and our payments processor. We do not receive or store your card details.
Usage and device data. Basic product analytics (e.g. which screens you use, session length), crash reports, and a push-notification token, collected to keep the app working and to improve it.
To generate your rehearsal scripts and narrated audio; to schedule the reminders you set; to operate, secure, and improve the app; to process payments and manage your subscription; and to communicate with you about your account or, if you opt in, launch and product updates. We do not sell your personal information.
What you tell Foreself before a rehearsal can be personal, such as a stressful conversation, an exam, or a competition. We run automated safety screening on this content before generating a rehearsal, to catch and appropriately handle anything suggesting you may be in crisis. If you are in crisis or considering harming yourself, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your area. Foreself is not equipped to provide that help.
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to run Foreself: a database and file storage provider, an AI transcription provider, an AI script-generation provider, a text-to-speech provider, a subscription/billing provider, and standard crash-reporting and analytics tools. Each processes only what's needed to perform its function and is contractually restricted from using your data for its own purposes.
We keep your transcripts, scripts, and rehearsal audio until you delete a specific rehearsal or your account. Deleting your account from Settings removes your profile, rehearsals, and reminders from our systems, other than records we're required to retain for legal, security, or billing purposes.
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting who can reach your data, and industry-standard hosting. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
You can access, export, or delete your rehearsals at any time in the app, and delete your account entirely from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or restrict our use of your information. Contact us to exercise them.
Foreself is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We'll update this page if our practices change and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
